Braun ThermoScan® measures the infrared heat generated by the eardrum and surrounding tissue. Because the eardrum shares blood supply with the temperature control centre in the brain, measurement with Braun ThermoScan® accurately reflects changes in core body temperature.

- Remove the thermometer from the protective case.
- Push the Power button.
- Attach a new lens filter.
- Select age with AgeSmart™ button
as shown below. Press the button to toggle through each age group. - Fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal.
- Push and release the Start button.
- Fit the probe snuggly into the ear canal.
- Press Eject button to remove and discard used lens filter, and put on a new, clean lens filter.
